Since 1983 I am a member of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW). Our organization struggles for the prohibition and abolition of all nuclear weapons and for a worldwide disarmament for medical, humanitarioan, and ecological reasons.
We are proud that our international Medical Association received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985 for its activities.
From 1996 till 2022 I was president of the Austrian chapter of IPPNW

In 2007 on the occasion of the meeting of the Preparatory Commission of the Review Coneference 2010 of the Non Proliferation Treaty, at UN Vienna we launched and presented the NGO-network ICAN, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear weapons.
